Our virtual Artist Development Boot Camp includes four weeks of one-on-one consultations with Jai Yoko, infographics, templates, and manuals (over $400 worth of deliverables included in the camp) to guide you through the basics of becoming a successful artist. We strive to have at least two 40-minute zoom calls per week with each client plus daily conversation.
Week 1: Navigation of the Music Business
Students will complete an intake quiz that consists of a primary curriculum of the music industry to evaluate their current understanding. One scored, consultant, will provide extensive reading material and infographics to study with hopes of understanding the foundation of the music industry. Topics covered
include:
❖ Importance of ownership of intellectual property
❖ Music Monetization
❖ Self-Administering Publishing
❖ Music Enterprise Creation
Week 2: Distribution and Maximizing a Release
Students will learn the importance of a successful release and all elements necessary to execute. A rollout plan and catalog management template will be provided for students to complete to ensure they fully understand the necessary steps to every release. Topics covered include:
❖ Importance of a rollout plan
❖ Introduction to the catalog management template
❖ Creation of social media calendar
❖ Creating content in bulk
Week 3: The 3Ps– PR, Press, and Promo
Students will learn about elements that keep their project relevant after a release. Again, the concept of planning your release is heavily emphasized during this module. Topics covered include:
❖ Marketing 101
❖ Publicity vs Promotion
❖ How to create a budget for your project
❖ Finding your target audience
Week 4: The Art of Persona
Students will learn the importance of creating the character of their brand, as well as learning how to connect that character to their audience. Topics covered include:
❖ Live performance tips
❖ Alternative performances
❖ Engaging with their audience
❖ Merch
